My camera is irreparably broken at the moment and, until I can afford to buy a new one, I’m having to make do with my iThingamies. It’s not the same. I miss my camera! So, I’ve been consoling myself by looking through old photos from past travels. And sighing. But I’ve also been filled up with appreciation for all the beautiful places and things and people I’ve captured in photos over the years. So I’m going to share some of all that with you.
These are photos I took in Meknes, Morocco in 2010. On that trip I was using a camera I wasn’t familiar with (I know, don’t ever blame your tools, but…), and I had accidentally, and without realising it, switched the camera onto a setting where all the photos came out extremely dark. I mean, nearly black. Gutted!
It’s only now, when I open them in Photoshop and fiddle with the balance, that the beauty of some of the images is finally revealed. (Forgive a little self-doubting, but I feel compelled to add a little disclaimer: I’m self-taught in Photoshop and so I’m sure the balanced could be better…but anyway.)
These are for my dear friend Amy, whose shoes you can see on the blue and white tiled floor of the riad where we were staying.
